The fully automatic EDM flow test bench is used for flow measurement of control orifices. The complete module consists of a loader module with an EDM machine on the left side and a flow test bench. The machine is being loaded with pallets by means of a drawer system (4 drawers).
For the part control the DMC of each part is read in the loader module and the orientation is determined to be able to put the part correctly on the slide of the EDM system.
Processed parts are removed from the slide and taken to the next work step.
The machine carries out the following work steps:
- blow-off VE-water
- measuring station inlet hole and
- measuring station outlet hole.
The processed control orifices are loaded back on the pallet. Reject parts are automatically sorted out.
A moveable control panel with a comfortable user interface is installed. Running processes and results are displayed. The parameters can be easily adjusted in case of changing requirements. All flow test results are sent to the EDM machine for production quality optimization.
