The Flow and Spray Test Bench GDI Injector is designed for the entire analysis of important parameters of GDI-fuel injectors. Explosion protected components enable the operation with n-heptane as test fluid.

The bench provides the following test functions:

  • Dynamic test in mg / inj (volumetric / gravimetric / shot-to-shot analysis)
  • Static flow test in g / min (volumetric / gravimetric)
  • Measurement of opening and closing times
  • Injector spray characteristic (axial / radial spray geometry)

Flow test station including:

  • Downstream gravimetrical measurement system with high-precision balance
  • Downstream flow test circuit with coriolis flow meter
  • Shot-to-shot measurement system, determination of injector rate signal and timing behavior
  • Measurement of injector opening and closing times

Spray test station including:

  • Spray test chamber configured for lateral backlight inspections and bottom view inspections
  • Injector nest rotation by means of a stepper motor
  • Stepper motor driven traverse unit including camera and lightning unit

Fuel supply system including:

  • High-pressure supply including piston pump and pressure regulation up to max. 500 bar
  • Low-pressure supply
  • Temperature regulation of the test fluid

Windows based operating interface for automatic and manual mode and process parameterization
